Hours:
- Basic 45 hours per week
- Monday to Friday 7.00am – 4.30pm
- Saturday mornings on a rota
- Stocktake weekend once a year

Main purpose of job:
- To support achievement of financial and performance budgets for the branch
- Formulate and implement best practice in managing the branch alongside branch manager
- Deputising for the branch manager when absent.
Main tasks of the job:
Customer service & sales
- Assisting on the trade counter with customer orders, helping to pick and check the orders.
- Helping customers locate product in the warehouse and load good into their vehicles.
- Answering the telephone when required.
- Interacting with both customers suppliers in a polite and friendly manner.
- Assisting with the achievement of sales targets
Stock control
- Assisting with deliveries from suppliers when required
- Putting stock away in the allocated locations
- Counting and checking stock
- Tidying stock locations
- Replenishing stock locations
Branch management
- Assisting the Branch Manager in the day to day running of the branch
- Assisting with sales and margin management
- Supporting the Branch Manager in recruitment and retention of branch staff
- Supporting the Branch Manager in managing planned and unplanned staff absence
- Supporting the Branch Manager with staff performance management
- Proactively managing staff welfare Supervising the branch and employees
- Ensuring that the branch is opened efficiently at start of business and securely closed at the end of the day
- Supervising and monitoring the performance of branch staff
- Maintain a high standard of general housekeeping
- Arrange break times for staff and absence cover
Health & safety
- Ensuring all floors and passageways are free from obstruction
- Complying with health and safety procedures at all times
- Reporting to the branch manager any unlawful behaviour
